I didn't take enough pictures of the Starling bag before I gave it away.
It was my first attempt at creating a bag and I had to have my sister help me with the sewing - I don't own a sewing machine.
On Ravelry there are a lot of amazing adaptations of this pattern. I tried to mimic Darrrrkwind's take on it. Overall I think I did a pretty good job, and my daughter seems happy enough with the bag.
I used heavy interface lining to give the bottom stiffness and then lighter on the sides. I ran the fabric up the handles to give it more stability so hopefully it won't get that saggy stretch that crochet bags get.
It has motivated me to try my hand at making different bags...vintage bags, to be exact. I love the look of them!
